Curious and impassioned by all the musical currents of today, Marie-Bernadette Charrier carries out an international career (France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Slovenia, Estonia, Switzerland, Austria, Ireland, Australia, Tasmania, Sweden, Denmark, Canada, USA, Japan, China, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Thailand, Chile, Venezuela, Argentina, Croatia, Brazil\u2026) as a soloist and in chamber music with the ensemble Proxima Centauri of which she is the artistic Director.<\/p>\n

She is regularly invited to perform in many international Events or Festivals (Ars Musica,Sonorities festival, Suona Francese, 38\u00e8me Rugissants, Radio France, Sintese, festivalLatinoamericano de Caracas, festival Musicacoustica Beijing, les Jeudis of Villa Medicis,Festival Pr\u00e9sences Paris 22 et 25 Paris, B!ME de Lyon, Festival Experimenta du P\u00e9rou, lesPropagations Marseille \u2026).<\/p>\n

She has taken part in various radio shows and recordings in Germany, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Australia and is regularly invited to give conferences and masterclasses in the world. She has played with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Pays de Loire, the Ensemble New Music, the International Orchestral Ensemble of Italy, the National Orchestra Bordeaux Aquitaine, the ensemble ARCEMA, the ensemble SMASH, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bangkok, the New Modern Ensemble of Montreal, the ECM+.<\/p>\n

In constant relation with the composers, she promotes the development of a new original repertoire \u2013 which regularly integrates new technologies into the musician\u2019s tradition \u2013 practicing an active ordering policy with composers as R. Cendo, T. Alla, J. Arroyo, G. Aperghis, R. Biston, R. Cano Vali\u00f1o, JL. Campana, N. Gim\u00e9nez Comas, C. Havel, P. Jodlowski, G. Lorusso, Z. Moultaka, I. Malec, A. Markeas, M. Matalon, S. Movio, H. Parra, D. Rotella, F. Ross\u00e9, D. Rudel Rey\u2026<\/p>\n

She has written numerous articles which have been published in: Circuit Canada magazine, Asax magazine, Hello Mr sax, Portraits polychromes G. Racot, INA-GRM, book T. ALLA \u201cUn musicien \u00e0 la conqu\u00eate du timbre\/A musician on a quest for timbre\u201d by P-A Castanet\u2026<\/p>\n

She currently teaches the saxophone and chamber music at the PESMD (P\u00f4le d\u2019Enseignement Sup\u00e9rieur de Musique et de Danse de Bordeaux Nouvelle-Aquitaine\/Higher Education Centre for Music and Dance at Bordeaux) and the Conservatoire of Bordeaux, where she created in 1993 a class of interpretation of contemporary music for all instruments and she has been training generations of interpreters to the open practice of music of today.<\/p>\n

Marie-Bernadette Charrier is Selmer and Vandoren artist, Honorary Member of the French Association of saxophonists.
