MIXTE ACADEMY<\/strong><\/h3>

Proxima Centauri and Ensemble Regards are organising a training academy for composers, performers and ensembles who wish to discover or deepen their practice of mixed music, combining instrumental ensembles and electronic devices.<\/p>

Designed as a laboratory for experimentation, this academy offers a place and time where musicians surrounded by professionals from the world of music can meet, listen to each other, exchange ideas and create together.<\/p>

Aimed at young musicians nearing the end of their training or professionals wishing to learn about new technologies, the academy focuses on the relationship between performers and composers in a context of sound and musical experimentation.<\/p>

For this third edition, MIXTE is being organised in partnership with the Conservatoire Pau B\u00e9arn Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es and the CERC, fostering a spirit of cooperation across the region.<\/p>

More than just training, MIXTE helps raise the profile of emerging artists. Throughout the week, concerts are organised in cultural venues across the city of Pau (Library Andr\u00e9-Labarr\u00e8re, Auditorium Les R\u00e9paratrices, CERC, outdoor venues, etc.), making MIXTE an academy that is open to the city and focuses on live experiences.<\/p>

All courses and workshops will be supervised by the musicians of Proxima Centauri, by composers Giulia Lorusso, Juan Arroyo, Christophe Havel and Vincent Trollet, and a guest artist: saxophonist and improviser Yui Sakagoshi.<\/p>

Content<\/h3>

The composition seminars will cover theoretical and practical topics related to composition in the context of writing mixed music\u2014both sonic and symbolic.<\/p>

Electronic practice workshops will allow participants to discover the tools available for composition, performance and improvisation.<\/p>

The mixed music workshops will bring together composers and instrumentalists to explore works from the repertoire or by participating composers.<\/p>

Improvisation workshops will enable participants to develop their creativity and expressiveness in improvisation.<\/p>

CERC (Centre for musical creation) will open its studios to participants for mixed practice sessions with their tools (editing, mixing, processing, modular synthesizers, etc.).<\/p>

For instrumentalists<\/strong><\/span> : individual lessons are available as an option (maximum of two per person; see rates).<\/p>

For composers<\/span><\/strong> : individual sessions with the composers of the teaching team will allow participants to work on their personal projects, receive personalized advice and feedback, and develop their compositional skills.<\/p>

External workshops<\/strong><\/h5>

Three introductory workshops are open to the general public outside the academy: \u201cnew technologies\u201d, \u201cnew instrumental practices\u201d and \u201cimprovisation\u201d. They are supervised by the academy's teaching staff and trainees can register for them as an extra.<\/p>

Accomodation<\/h5>

Accommodation is available at boarding school of Lyc\u00e9e Saint Cricq, Pau. Lyc\u00e9e Saint-Cricq (3 bis avenue de Nitot 64000 Pau) is a 5-minute walk from the Conservatoire and offers boarding school rooms throughout the period from 3th (evening) to 10 July (morning) 2026 (i.e. 7 nights):<\/p>
