Piano

Born in Japan, Hilomi Sakaguchi studied piano at SOAI University, where she was awarded First Prize in 1989. After arriving in France in 1990, she obtained the Diplôme Supérieur d'Exécution from the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris with Annie D'Arco (a pupil of Marguerite Long), as well as the Gold medal and Medal of Honour from the city of Bordeaux, unanimously awarded by the Conservatoire National de Région de Bordeaux in Alain Motard's class, and went on to perfect her skills with Vadim Sakharov, François-René Duchable, Jacques Rouvier and others.

In 1993, she returned to her native country to teach piano at the SOAI University of Music (OSAKA) and to accompany classes in singing, choral singing, string instruments, wind instruments, chamber music and orchestral conducting at the Osaka University of the Arts and the Académie Française de Kyoto.

From 1991 to 1993, she worked with saxophonist and composer Ryo Noda, performing his works in Japan, Europe and the United States.

Returning to France in 1995, she was appointed pianist-accompanist at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Bordeaux and currently works with the saxophone, violin and cello classes.

At the same time, she is a regular guest pianist at the Habanera International Saxophone Academy in France, the Conservatoire Supérieur des îles Baléares and the Santiago Academy in Spain, and takes part in numerous saxophone masterclasses.

She gives many concerts in France and abroad (Japan, United States, Europe) as a soloist and chamber musician in a repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary music.
