ACADÉMIE INTERNATIONALE DE CRÉATION MUSICALE
The next edition of the Academy Week will take place from 3 to 10 July 2026 at the Conservatoire de Pau Béarn Pyrénées (and various other venues in the City of Pau).
The call for registrations for the Academy week in July 2026 will be issued in January 2026.
A week entirely dedicated to musical creation
MIXTE is also a summer academy , with the participation of the winning composers, joined by musicians, composers and performers selected following a Call for Composers and Performers launched at the beginning of 2026.
During one week, the musicians, composers and performers play, create, improvise, share ideas, present their work during ‘cartes blanches’, attend individual and group workshops, seminars and masterclasses, supervised by the teaching staff and invited professional artists.
Some workshops are open to the public, where anyone can try out a new discipline, even if they're not a musician (discovering electronics, improvisation, etc.).
The selected composers (from the Call for Project in January 2025) continue to receive personalised support for their composition projects and work on a daily basis with Proxima Centauri musicians.
The week ends with concerts in different parts of the city to showcase the work of the various professional and amateur workshops, and a pre-premiere concert of the works of the five winning composers.
