Curious about all of today's musical trends, Marie-Bernadette Charrier has an international career (France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Slovenia, Estonia, Switzerland, Ireland, Australia, Canada, USA, Japan, China, Thailand, Peru, Mexico, Chile, etc.) as a soloist and chamber musician with the Proxima Centauri ensemble, of which she is artistic director. She has taken part in various radio broadcasts and recordings in Germany, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Canada and Australia.

She has performed with the Orchestre du Théâtre de Nantes, the Orchestre Philharmonique des Pays de Loire, the Ensemble International de Saxophones, the Ensemble Musique Nouvelle, the Ensemble Orchestral International d'Italie, the Orchestre du Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux, the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine, the ARCEMA ensemble, the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne de Montréal, the Ensemble Contemporain de Montréal... Marie-Bernadette Charrier is regularly invited to give masterclasses and lectures at various Conservatoires Supérieurs de Musique and universities in Europe, America, Australia and Asia.

She currently teaches saxophone at the PESMD Bordeaux Aquitaine and at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Bordeaux, where she set up a contemporary music interpretation class for all instruments in 1993. She has trained generations of performers in the open practice of today's music.

Marie-Bernadette Charrier is an honorary member of the French Saxophonists Association and a member of the World Saxophone Committee. She is the author of some one hundred original works for saxophone and has recorded more than ten CDs.
